While dentistry generally promotes keeping and saving your natural teeth, there are a few reasons to actually remove a tooth:
- Positional issues: sometimes a tooth can be mal-posed to the point of affecting the adjacent tooth.
- Structural issues: severe decay can often render a tooth un-salvageable. Sometimes, if decay is too far under the gum-line, not even a root canal and crown will remedy the problem–it may be too far gone at this point.
- Economic issues: in reality, pure finances may dictate treatment. We at Dental Designs are here to help, and never judge your decisions. We simply want to inform you of the situation, give you your options, and enable you to make the best decision to fit your life.
- Wisdom teeth: The majority of people develop their wisdom teeth which tend to erupt and move other teeth aligned or may get infected.
Having extractions, let it be normal tooth or wisdom teeth extractions, do NOT mean more pain or discomfort–quite the contrary!
